Abstract
Objective To observe the standard decompressive craniectomy in the treatment of severe head injury effect. Methods 74 cases with severe brain damage in our hospital from December 2008 to December 2010 were observed, both groups were given dehydration, inflammation, bleeding, protecting the brain and other conventional treatments before and after operation, and surgery as soon as possible. All patients according to different methods of surgery were divided into two groups, observation group had 38 cases(line standard decompressive craniectomy) and the control group had 36 cases(the conventional decompressive craniectomy),we compared the efficacy and the cause of death in both groups. Results There were followed up for 6 months,15.79% mortality in the observation group, the total effective rate was 84.21%,while the control group mortality of 30.56%,total effective rate was 69.44%,there was a significant difference in the total effective rate between the observation group and control group(χ2=6.432,P0.05).Conclusion The standard decompressive craniectomy is effective treatment, can significantly improve patient outcomes, reduced mortality, better than the traditional craniotomy,is worthy of extensive promotion and application.
