On the Refugee Problem in Henan in the Ming Dynasty

The refugee problem wasn’t confined only to the Ming Dynasty,but it was in the Ming Dynasty that the graveness of this problem became unprecedented.Refugees brought a lot of trouble to the Ming Dynasty,and what troubled the government most was the refugees from Jing Xiang regions and Nanyang,a great proportion of whom came from Henan Province.The fundamental reason for rampant Henanese refugee movements in the Ming Dynasty was that the government in the Ming Dynasty was ineffective in dealing with famine control.When eventually the Ming Dynasty regime failed to provide sufficient food for famine relief,an avalanche of refugees came into being,who ultimately turned to the gravediggers of the Ming Dynasty regime.
