On“the Movement to Restore the Ming Dynasty”In the Early Qing Dynasty

The restoration of the Ming Dynasty, a political movement in the early Qing Dynasty to overthrow the ruling government and regain the previous government control, has been a controversial issue in the research of the history of the Southern Ming Dynasty. Thigh analysis, this article points out that the Movement resulted from the intensified ethnic contradictions and became a part of the national struggle in the early Qing Dynasty. Involved in the Movement were not only royal members and military and civilian officials but also people of various social strata with the aim to restore the Han nationality culture and tradition in dress and ornaments.
