Abstract

Waste water sample, whose chlorine ion is higher than 2 000 mg/L and COD value is low,is added mercury sulfate as screening agent. The ratio of mercury sulfate and chlorine ion is 15∶1 and the COD value of retained chlorine ion the blank reagent is deducted. The result is accurate and reliable, which exteneds the usage range of standard method.
