Ipratropium Bromide in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinic efficacy of Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent) in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.Methods 60 allergic rhinitis out patients were randomized into 2 groups:Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent) group (Atrovent 2 sprays intranasal,bid for 14 days,n=30) and control group without Atrovent ( n =30).Every clinical examination before the treatment and 7?14?28 days after the treatment were recorded.Results In Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent) group,patients had a better control in accelerating the decrease in the severity and duration of rhinorrhea.There was a significant difference as compared with control group ( P 0.05).Conclusion Ipratropium Bromide (Atrovent) might be helpful in treating allergic rhinitis through decreasing the severity and duration of rhinorrhea.
