Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection on gastric acid and its relation to duodenal ulcer(DU).Method:Investigated the gartric pH,acid output and concentrition of ammonia (NH 3)in Hp positive patients with DU and after emdication of Hp infection. Results:The levels of gastric acid and NH + 4 in Hp positive patients with DU were significantly higher than controls. After eradication of Hp infection, the levels of gastric acid and NH + 4 were turned in normal level.Hp infection causes acid seceretion to be increased Conclusion:The inreraction of both factors play more inportant role in pathogenic mechanism in patients with DU
