Abstract

An Experiment was studied on the composite MUCT process used in a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Tianjin, the effects of the said process on nitrogen and phosphorus removal under different SRT conditions were primarily investigated. The results showed that, adding combined packing could enhance the nitrific-ation performance of the system, and reducing sludge age to some extent was propitious to improve the phosphorus removal efficiency. When the sludge age was 8 d,the mass concentration of effluent NH3-N,TP were 5.1,0.8 mg/L in average respectively, and the mass concentration of effluent TN was lower than 20 mg/L;when the sludge age was 6 d,the mass concentration of effluent NH3-N was 7.7 mg/L in average, which met the A grade of the first level in the national discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant(GB18918-2002).
