Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of Anwei Decoction(AD) on the expression of EGF,EGFR mRNAs in rats with chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).Methods: Forty eight healthy rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal control group, pathologic model group,Anwei Decoction group, and Weifuchun group.CAG was induced in rats with N-methy-N-nitro-N-nitroguanidine(MNNG).The effects of these medicines on the expressions of EGF,EGFR mRNAs in rats' gastric mucosas were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR).Results: Compared with the pathologic model group, the expression of EGF mRNA was remarkably reduced in Anwei Decoction and Weifuchun groups(0.32±0.04 vs 0.64±0.08,0.42±0.05 vs 0.64±0.08,P0.01).The expression level of EGFR mRNA was significantly lower in Anwei Decoction group than in Weifuchun group(P0.01).Compared with the pathologic model group, the expression of EGFR mRNA was remarkably reduced in Anwei Decoction and Weifuchun groups(0.56±0.11 vs 0.78±0.14,0.67±0.08 vs 0.78±0.14,P0.01).The expression level of EGFR mRNA was significantly lower in the Anwei Decoction group than in the Weifuchun group(P0.05).Conclusion: Anwei Decoction may treat CAG by reducing the expression of EGF,EGFR mRNA in gastric mucosas.
