Abstract

The advances on the thermally coupled distillation process are briefly summarized,the principles of energy-saving as well as the application range of thermally coupled distillation are discussed.An industrial example of isomeric compounds separation is introduced,and the energy-saving technology of it is analyzed.A new flowsheet is presented according to the industrial application.The operational parameters and conditions are optimized,the results showed the new flowsheet could decrease energy-consumption hugely,it could save high-pressure steam consumption by 49% and could have a sum of 2.7 million yuan of economic returns annually.
