Abstract

Myrobalan Plum( Peunus cerasifera Ehrh.),commonly known as wild plum,Prunus,Rosaceae,an edible fruit, owing to its good fruit tastes and abundant nutritional value and medicinal value, has been paid much attentions since ancient times. Although a lot of studies have been made on its ecology, cultivation, fruit nutrients, fruit juice processing and other aspects, its biological ingredient, antioxidant function, mechanism, component analysis and the development of high value researches have been gradually carried out in recent years. Therefore, based on this in the article its practical characteristics of fruit as the starting point, from vitamins, amino acids, sugars, trace elements and flavone content as well as other pulp properties are reviewed. On the other hand from protein, fatty acid, cellulose and other aspects of its pyrenes characteristics are reviewed in this paper. Besides the natural pigment types, content, antioxidant function and the pericarp characteristics are discussed, looking forward to better ideas of its development and utilization.
