Abstract

Objective To explore the change and its clinical significance of the level of serum high sensitive C-reactive protein in patients with progressive cerebral infarction. Methods The levels of serum hs-CRP in 63 patients with cerebral infarction(25 progressive cerebral infarction patients and 38 complete cerebral infarction patients)and 73 health adults(NC group) were measured. Results The levels of serum hs-CRP in patients with cerebral infarction[(5.69±3.78)mg/L]were higher than those of the NC group[(0.85±0.47)mg/L](P0.01).The levels of serum hs-CRP in the progressive cerebral infarction group[(7.55±4.25)mg/L] were higher than those of the complete cerebral infarction group[(4.52±2.96)mg/L](P0.01).Conclusions The levels of serum hs-CRP in patients with cerebral infarction are higher. The levels of serum hs-CRP in patients with progressive cerebral infarction are significantly higher than those of the complete cerebral infarction patients. It suggestes that hs-CRP may participate in occurrence and development of cerebral infarction.
