Abstract
Objective To study the significance of changes of serum D-dimer and hypersensitivity C-reactive protein in diagnosing and treating patients with progressive cerebral infarction(PIS).Methods 100 patients with acute cerebral infarction were divided into the progressive cerebral infarction group with 36 patients and the stable cerebral infarction group with 64 patients according to the clinical symptoms and signs. The serum D-dimer and hypersensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels were detected. And 35 healthy medical staffs were selected as the control group. Results The stable cerebral infarction group was higher than the control group in both serum D-dimer and hs-CRP levels, with statistically significant differences(P 0.01).The progressive cerebral infarction group was higher than the stable cerebral infarction group in both serum D-dimer and hs-CRP levels, with statistically significant differences(P 0.01).Conclusion The serum D-dimer and hs-CRP levels increase at the occurrence of cerebral infarction, which is especially obvious at the occurrence of progressive cerebral infarction. Both serum D-dimer and hs-CRP can serve as the independent high risk factor and predictor of progressive cerebral infarction and are also conducive to the early diagnosis and treatment of PIS.
