Abstract

To ensure the safety of tooth whitening products during bleaching process, a kinetic model of hydrogen peroxide releasing was developed and the released amounts of hydrogen peroxide was determined by a colorimetric method. Hydrogen peroxide can reacts with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato(V)(PDV)to form a stable orange-red colored chelate complex,oxo-peroxo-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylato(V)(OPDV) with maximum ausorption at 430nm.The efficiency of the analysis and the model was studied. Some kinds of tooth whitening products were tested.
