Abstract
Objective To investigate the significiance of detecting surum thymidine kinase 1(STK1) in diagnosis and evaluation of treatment efficacy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods The expresson of STK1 was detected with sensitive chemiluminescence dot-blot assay in 28 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(group A) before and after radiotherapy and 49 healthy people(group B).Results STK1 levels were higher in group A before radiotherapy than those in group A after radiotherapy and group B [(1.93±0.63) pmol/L vs.(1.58±0.40) pmol/L and(1.36±0.86) pmol/L](P0.05).So did the positive rate of STK1(39.13% vs.9.52% and 10.20%)(P0.05).Conclusion The detection of STK1 is valuable in the diagnosis and evaluation of treatment efficacy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
