Abstract
Efficient-updating the group session keys is very crucial to guarantee the multicast group security. In order to achieve perfect forward and perfect b ackward secrecy, and to counteract cryptoanalysis, the group session keys should be rekeyed. This paper discusses the rekeying mechanisms for secure multicast, investigates the rekeying period for a class of dynamical groups, and considers factors for practical rekeying solutions.
