Abstract
Synthesis of dihexyl sebacate from sebacic acid and n-hexanol alcohol over bentonite activated by acid(SO2-4/Bentonite)was studied.Effects of reaction condition,i.e.,reaction temperature,n-hexanol alcohol to sebacic acid mole ratio, catalyst dosage and reaction time, were investigated.Optimum reaction conditions were obtained as follows:n(n-hexanol alcohol)∶n(sebacic acid)=4.0∶1,catalyst dosage was 4.17% of the total mass of sebacic acid and n-hexanol alcohol, reaction temperature was less than 160 ℃,reaction time 3 h.Sebacic acid conversion of 99.05% was obtained.Activity of the catalyst kept at 93% after 4 cycles of use.
