Efficacy Observation of Continuous Lumbar Cistern Tube Drainage Combined with Intrathecal Injection to Treat Tuberculous Meningitis

Objective To observe the efficacy of continuous lumbar cistern tube drainage combined with intrathecal injection to treat tuberculous meningitis.Methods 89 cases of tuberculous meningitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,the control group adopted conventional therapy,the treatment group adopted additional continuous lumbar cistern tube drainage combined with intrathecal injection.The effective rates of both groups were compared after two month.Results The clinical manifestation and average time of sign improvement of the treatment group was shorter than the control group(P0.05).The improvement of cerebrospinal fluid examination of treatment group was better than that in control group(P0.05).The effective rate was 100.0% in the treatment group,the effective rate was only 88.4% in the control group,the difference had statistical significance(P0.01).Conclusion Continuous Lumbar cistern tube drainage combined with intrathecal injection therapy has marked curative effect in curing tuberculous meningitis,can significantly improve the cure rate.
