Discussion on the Transformation from CAD data to GIS Format Based on MAPGIS

Abstract

Because of the large difference between the data structure of the CAD system and GIS,the data of CAD system can not well meet the requirements of GIS.This paper analyzed the existed problem in the transformation from CAD data to GIS format.Then it discussed the logic organization,level design and properties design of the transformation from basic topographic map into GIS database using the data transformation model of MAPGIS.Nevertheless,it is necessary to establish the National Spatial Data Format Standard Specification to thoroughly solve the problem in the transformation from CAD data to GIS format.
