Study on Antibacterial Effect of Extract from Peganum harmala

The alcoholic extract of the aboveground of Peganum harmala L.was divided into 5 fractions: petroleum ether extract,chloroform extract,ethyl acetate extract,n-butanol extract and water extract.And they were used to investigated their fungistatic activity by the hypha growth method.The results showed that the petroleum ether extract and the n-butanol extract can inhibit the growth of five plant pathogenic fungi.The inhibition rates of petroleum ether extractions to Bakeri rehm and Alternaria solani were about 48.10% and 48.97% respectively,higher than that of the other extracts in the concentration of 0.05 g / mL, While the water extract can improve the growth of F.oxysporum f.niveum,up to 40%.
