Abstract
As one of the key concepts in narrative theory,focalization arrests a large amount of scholarly concern on myriad levels.With the rise of postclassical narratology,a new wave of focalization studies has made its due arrival.Starting with the earlier studies on point of view,this paper elaborates on the studies of and the debates about focalization in the context of classical narratology and explores the current state of focalization studies in the context of postclassical narratology with cases like feminist narratology and cognitive narratology.
