Abstract

For investigating the effects of extreme ice and snow hazard on stability of slope project,we carried out analysis and calculation in 5 cases including considering recharge intensities of different snowmelt infiltrations and infiltration time, based on saturated and unsaturated seepage theory and combining with some engineering practices. The results show that when snowmelt infiltration occures, the sliding mode and potential sliding surface do not change, however, safety factors of slopes show a decrease trend with the infiltration process, and a maximum decrease happens in the first 12 hours;the intensity of snowmelt infiltration has the largest effects on stability of slops;the detained water in upper part of slope continue infiltrating even the surface infiltration has stopped, and the safety factor still decrease slowly if the intensity of upper infiltration is large;if the intensity of upper infiltration is slight, the safety factor shows a increase trend;the most dangerous case happen after 48 hours from the start of snowmelt infiltration.
