Abstract

By using the cucumber infested artificially by,this paper investigated the influences of downy mildew infestation on the activities of phenylalnine ammonialyase(PAL),polyphenol oxidase(PPO),peroxidase(POD) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) in cucumber leaf.The activities of four main defense enzymes in cucumber leaf increased in different degrees after infestation.There were significant differences of all four main defense enzymes between serious infestation or its system control and health control(P0.05).Only PAL and POD indicated significant difference between slight infestation or its system control and health control(P0.05) while PPO and SOD showed no significant difference(P0.05).The results indicated that the downy mildew infection induced the cucumber to produce systemic resistance.
