Literature Review of Research on Translation Process

This paper reviews the study on translation process from three perspectives: theoretical perspective,experiential perspective and experimental perspective in the hope of analyzing its present conditions and existing problems.It is found that the present study of translation process is mainly theoretical and experiential,while the experimental study is comparatively disappointing.The theoretical study focuses on the models of translation process and thinking in translation process.Though Roger T.Bell has put forward a translation model from the cognitive perspective,the validity of the model still needs practical examination.Besides,the conclusions about translation experiences come from personal practice,which cannot explain the mysteries of translation process.Now the empirical research on translation process abroad has achieved some success,but in China we only have some theoretical introduction and have not established a real experimental study of translation process in a strict sense.
