Abstract

Objective To analyse and compare the sensitivity and specificity of the common methods used now in the detection of antiENA antibodies. Methods All 130 serum samples from 80 patients with different connective tissue diseases(CTD),30 with non CTD patients and 20 from normal volunteers were collected and studied. These sera were tested for antiSm,antiRNP, antiSSA and antiSSB antibodies with ELISA,immunoblot test (IBT) and current immunoelectrophoresis(CIE) methods. ResultsZThe sensitivity of antiSm and antiRNP antibodies was augmented with IBT and ELISA,such as the detection of antiSSB antibodies with ELISA.Because the antigens were acetone that come from hares chest gland and then the SSA antigens were lacking and sensitivity of antiSSA antigens was lacking,so the sensitivity of antiSSA antibodies was the lowest with IBT.IBT was in accord with ELISA. Conclusion It is suggested that three methods may be complementary in detection of antiENA antibodies.
