Transurethral endoscopic treatment of ureterocele (report of 31 cases and review of the literature)

【Objective】To summarize the diagnostic point and therapeutic experience of transurethral endoscopic operation of ureterocele.【Methods】All patients were diagnosed by ultrasonography,intravenous urography(IVU) and cystoscopy before operation Transurethral endoscopic incision or unroofing of ureterocele was used in all cases.【Results】All the 31 cases succeeded in surgery,clinical symptoms were ameliorated,calculi were discharged and hydronephorsis was abated.Twenty-five cases were available for follow-up of six months to two years.There was no recurrent ureterocele,uretal orifice stricture or vesicoureteral reflux.【Conclusion】Transurethral endoscopic opera-tion of ureterocele has remarkable curative effect,may lessen operation trauma and post surgical complications,shorten surgical time and hospitalization stay and is worth recommendation.
