Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of preventing abdominal distension of patients with the chest and vertebral fractures by combination of early point massage and conventional treatment and nurse. Methods 102 patients with the chest and vertebral fractures were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in control group(n=51) were treated by conventional treatment.Patients in treatment group were treated by combination of early point massage(Hegu,Zudi,Zusanli and abdomen) and conventional treatment. The incidence rate of abdominal distension on day of admission and the fifth day of admission and the occurrence of symptoms caused by abdominal distension on the tenth day of admission were recorded. Results The incidence rate of abdominal distension and discomfort caused by abdominal distension in treatment group were lower than those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Early point massage can decrease incidence rate of abdominal distension and various discomfort caused by abdominal distension a variety.
