Abstract

Cognitive linguistics assumes that metaphor serves not only as a rhetorical device in literary works but also as a mode of cognition which plays an important role in people's thinking and speaking.Metaphor comes as a result of image schema mapping both in the target conceptual domain and the source conceptual domain.Essentially emotional metaphor is a cognitive phenomenon,which employs dimensions or tangible materials to express abstract and complicated emotions.
