Abstract
Objective To review our experience in correction of pectus excavatum by Nuss procedure without thoracoscope. Methods Thirty-six patients with pectus excavatum were surgically corrected by non-thoracoscopic Nuss procedure. The curative effect was observed. Results The operation in all patients had been performed successfully without any severe complications. The average time of operation was 40 minutes. The average bleeding volume during procedure was 10 ml.Conclusions Non-thoracoscopic Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum is safe for patients with pectus excavatum. No procedure in thoracic cavity is suggested for less trauma, shorter time and better effect.
