Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of double-needle acupuncture in treating upper-limb hypertonia after stroke. Methods Sixty post-stroke patients with upper-limb hypertonia were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,30 in each. The treatment group was treated by double-needle acupuncture with antagonistic acupoint 1,2 and 3,and the control was treated by conventional acupuncture. Results The total effective rate was 76.7% in the treatment group versus 53.3% in the control, and the difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusion Double-needle acupuncture is an effective method in treating upper-limb hypertonia after stroke.
