Comparison of the Information Consumption of Urban and Rural Residents in Hebei Province

According to the data about per capita annual net income and the per capita annual consumption expenditure of Hebei province from 1999 to 2013 in China Statistical Yearbook,this paper constructs the information consumption function of urban and rural residents in Hebei Province and carries on comparative research of information consumption of urban and rural residents from information expenditure,information coefficient,information consumption structure,marginal information propensity to consume and income elasticity of demand of information. The result shows that the information consumption of rural residents is significantly behind urban residents and puts forward some suggestions to promote the development of the information consumption.
