Abstract
Objective To improve the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal pheochromocytoma. Methods 24 cases of adrenal pheochromocytoma were retrospectively analyzed. Results 98.5% of these cases manifested hypertension. The positive sensitivity of urinary VMA was 95.8%.The accurate rate of localization and diagnosis with ultrasonography,CT and MRI was 62.5%,100% and 100%.Total resections were performed in all patients. No patient died in perioperative period. Conclusion Urinary VMA assay and imaging procedures were important for diagnosis of adrenal pheochromocytoma. Surgical extirpation was the only means of cure, and meticulous preparation was essential.
