Abstract
Three cucumber cultivars(Jinyou1,Xin Jinchun and Shuchun) were grown in nutrient solutions with four NaCl levels(80,100,120,160 mmol/L) to study the effects of NaCl stress on cucumber seedling growth, the contents of free praline and soluble protein in cucumber. The results indicated that NaCl stress decreased plant growth, and the content of free praline, soluble protein increased with the NaCl levels.100 mmol/L was the key point of the NaCl stress for cucumber. Results also showed Jinyou1 was more tolerant to NaCl stress than other two cultivars.
