Abstract

The in Mo Jing is not the concept in the traditional sense,but a phraseological symbol by which objective things are denoted . In Mo Jing,the Mohist in the later stage unveiled the symbolic character and function of put forward the theory for its classification, discussed the relations between Ming and Shi and Ming and Ming, elucidated deeply the principles and methods in the use of denomination. Therefore, the theory of Ming in Mo Jing is virtually a kind of semeiological theory about phraseologicasl denotation.
