Abstract

The authors have derived frequency amplitude function for MDOF structures with MTMD using the frequency area analysis method. The frequency amplitude function of STMD is compared with that of MTMD . At the same time, the effect of MTMD placement on vibration reduction is analysised. Finally, the parameter analysis and design of MTMD are carried out for an existing bridge and time history results under two seismic waves are given.
