In terms of his explorations into the realm of Chinese philosophy and contributions to the establishment and development of modern Chinese philosophy,Mr.Feng Youlan could be approached from two major aspects.One of them relates to his accomplishments in and contributions to the study of the history of Chinese philosophy as an independent discipline,and the other to his attempts at establishing the theoretical system of modern Chinese philosophy.Mr.Feng Youlan was a leading scholar in the history of contemporary Chinese philosophy who had yielded significant contributions to the disciplinary development of modern Chinese philosophy ad hoc in his studies of Chinese philosophy both theoretically and historically.
