Abstract

Gaoqianbei Area is a self-contained conventional heavy oil reservoir in Jidong Oilfield,with wide oil-bearing area and active edge and bottom water body.The development of the reservoir depends on natural energy.High oil-water viscosity ratio and strong reservoir heterogeneity cause the irregular coning of edge and bottom water,rapid rising of water cut and low oil recovery efficiency.In recent years,horizontal well technology,profile control and oil displacement technologies of edge water reservoir were applied to the reservoir.The development effect was obviously improved and the recovery efficiency was enhanced continuously.This paper introduces the design and application effect of horizontal well and the profile control and oil displacement of edge water reservoir in the conventional heavy oil reservoir of Gaoqianbei Area from the respect of reservoir engineering.
