Abstract

The main chemical compositions and the chemical harmony indices of flue-cured tobacco from different soil types were studied in Xuanwei tobacco planting region, and the chemical quality of flue-cured tobacco from different soil types were evaluated base on fuzzy mathematical method. The results showed that there were significant differences of main chemical compositions of tobacco among different soil types, which were as follows: tobacco from paddy soil had the highest contents of total sugar, reducing sugar, total nitrogen and nicotine;tobacco from new alluvial soil had the highest contents of potassium and chloride and ratio of sugar to nicotine;tobacco from purple soil had the highest starch content, difference between two sugars and K/Cl;tobacco from red soil had the highest ratio of nitrogen to nicotine. Therefore, tobacco from red soil had the highest chemical harmony score(CHS) of flue-cured tobacco(79.74),and followed by new alluvial soil and purple soil, paddy soil had the lowest.
