Study on Feasibility of Teaching Culture in College English Teaching

Abstract

Starting from the analysis of the relations between culture, language and crosscultural communicative ability, this paper points out that the current situation of overemphasizing language instruction while neglecting the teaching of cultural knowledge must be changed. It has elaborated the necessity and feasibility of teaching culture in the process of college English teaching, with the objective and contents of culture teaching provided. 
