Abstract

Resveratrol(3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene) is a naturally occurring plant phytoalexin which is synthesized by several plants in response to adverse conditions, such as environmental stress or pathogenic attack.Growing evidence suggests that resveratrol exerts the preventing effect on human pathological processes, such as inflammation, atherosclerosis, and carcinogenesis,so it is of catholic concern. Therefore, resveratrol derivatives and analogues have caused great attention both in home and abroad.Relative literature in the last few years about its pharmacological activities and analysis methods were summarized and analyzed in this paper. These compounds have multiple biological and pharmacological activities like resveratrol;but some are superior over resveratrol in activity, selectivity and stability, and have become a research focus in recent years.
