Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical curative effects of joint mobilization combined with electroacupuncture in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder. Methods:Sixty patients with periarthritis of shoulder were randomly divided into 2 groups,30 cases in each group.Patients in the treatment group were administrated with electroacupuncture and joint mobilization, while the others in the control group were administrated with electroacupuncture only. After each treatment, patients in the 2 groups were guided to carry out the following functional exercises asclimbing the walls, holding hands after their bodies, adducting and abducting their shoulder joints. The clinical curative effects of the patients in the 2 groups were evaluated according to the shoulder-joint scoring system established by University of California before the initial treatment and after the 10th treatment respectively. Results:There was no statistical difference in the shoulder function scores of the patients between the 2 groups before the treatment(t=-1.386,P=0.171),and there was comparability for the 2 groups. After the 10th treatment, the shoulder function scores of the 2 groups improved(t=-12.40,P=0.000;t=-10.35,P=0.000),and scores of patients in the treatment group improved more significantly than those in the control group(t=2.120,P=0.024).Conclusion:The method of joint mobilization combined with electroacupuncture has definite curative effects on periarthritis of shoulder,it is worth popularizing in clinic.
