Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of VEGF-C and VEGF-D in patients with breast carcinoma and the relationship between above expressions and lymph node metastasis, the prognosis. Methods The expressions of VEGF-C and VEGF-D were detected by SP immunohistochemical method in 78 breast carcinoma and 30 para-cancerous tissues. The follow-up period was at least 60 months for all 78 patients. Results High expression rate of VEGF-C/D in 78 cases with breast carcinoma were significant diference(P0.05)compared with 30 cases adjacent tissue to cancer. There was no correlation with the expression of VEGF-C and VEGF-D in the breast cancer tissue. There was significantly positive correlation between the expression levels of VEGF-C/D and microvessel invasion, lymph node metastasis(P0.05).But there was no correlation between the expression levels of VEGF-C/D and age, tumor size,TNM clinical stage, the expression of ER,PR,Her-2(P0.05).There was also significant correlation between expression levels of VEGF-C/D and the overall survival,disease-free survival time in patients with breast caicinoma(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of VEGF-C and VEGF-D is up-regulated in breast carcinoma. The expression levels of VEGF-C/D have closely relationship with lymph node metastasis and prognosis.
