Dual-source CT angiography of aortic dissection:Analysis and preoperative assessment of 35 cases

Objective To investigate the clinical value of dual-source CT(DSCT) angiography in the diagnosis and preoperative assessment of aortic dissection.Methods Thirty-five patients with aortic dissection from Jul 2009 to Feb 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Imaging reconstruction and analysis of all patients were finished at the workstation.The reconstruction techniques included multiplanar reconstruction,maximum intensity projection,and volume rendering technique.The extension,type,and involvement of important branches of aortic dissection were focused.Results According to involvement extension of aortic dissection,there were 13 cases of DeBakey type I,4 cases of DeBakey type II and 18 cases of DeBakey type Ⅲ.Lacerated intimal flap and initial entry site of aortic dissection were observed in all patients,and involvements of main branches of aorta were accurately showed.Conclusions DSCT angiography should be one of important imaging Methods in diagnosis and preoperative assessment of aortic dissection,for its simple operation and accuracy.
