Abstract

This paper carried out,in the first time,a study on reptile fauna and its geographical division of Henan Province.The reptiles living in Henan belong to 40 species,8 families and 3 orders,which can be divided into 4 zoogeographical provinces as follows:Tongbai Dabie Mountains and Hills Province;Funiu Mountains and Hills and Basin Province;Western and Northwwstern Henan Mountains and Hills and Platform province;Huanghe and Huaihe and Haihe Plain Province.The respective Province's natural environment,animal composition,population and faunal features have also been described and analyzed in this paper.Otherwise,there are 4 new record species of Henan reptile being reported,which known as Lycodon fasciatus,Elaphe anomala,Dinodon flavozonatum and Ovophis monticola .
