Abstract
Social education in the countryside is the common understanding achieved by the modern educators who undertook experiments in the countryside. The revelation is that special situations in China determines our efforts for co untryside education. Priorities should not solely go to urban education, school education, elite education and juvenile education. Countryside education, social education, education for the masses and the dropouts are equally important. Social education in the countryside is connected not only with its stability, e nlightenment, morality, but also with the making up for the inadequacies of school education and family education in the countryside.
