Abstract
Objective To study expression of p~(53)protein in cervical intraepitheliai neoplasia(CIN)and carvical carcinoma and its relationship with lymph node metastasis. Methods p~(53)protein expression was detected by using immunohistochemical staining in 34 patients with CIN,40 patients with cervical carcinoma and 10 normal controls. Results The expression of p~(53)in cervical carcinoma was significantly higher than that in CIN and normal cervical tissues respectively(both P<0.05). The expression of p~(53)in CIN I was not significantly higher than that in normal cervical tissues(P>0.05),and there was a significant difference as compared with that in cervical carcinoma tissues(P<0.05). In CIN If,the expression of p~(53)sharply increased and there was significant difference as compared with that in normal cervical tissues(P<0. 05),but there was not significant difference as compared with that in cervical carcinoma tissues (P>0.05). In expression of p~(53),there was no significant difference between lymph node metastasis group and non lymph node metastasis group, that is,the expression rate of p~(53)was not statistically related to lymph node metastasis(P>0.05)in cervical carcinoma. Conclusion The over-expression of p~(53)is associated with occurrence and development of cervical carcinoma,it may be an important indice for early diagnosis, treatment and evaluating prognosis of CIN.
