Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of phacoemulsification in the management of angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.Methods:Among the 26 patients (31 eyes) with angle-closure glaucoma and cataract was studied,which were performed the Phacoemulsification with foldable intraocular lens implantation through scleral tunnel incision,including 25 eyes with primary acute angle-closure glaucoma,6 eyes with primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma. The follow-up period was 1~14 months.Results:The intraocular pressure was reduced from preoperative mean of (19.50±4.26)mmHg to postoperative mean of (11.25±2.50)mmHg (P0.05). The mean anterior chamber depth was (1.47±0.23)mm preoperatively and (2.35±0.34)mm postoperatively (P0.05). The best corrected visual acuity was improved.Conclusion:Phacoemulsification and posterior chamber intraocular lens(IOL) implantation is a effective way in treating angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.
