Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the treatment efficacy and safety of tamsulosin in benign prostatic hyperplasia.METHODS From March 2010 to March 2011,78 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia in the outpatient treatment were randomly divided into observation group and control group, the observation group was treated with oral tamsulosin 0.2 mg,once per night, for taking 12 weeks;the control group was treated with oral administration of terazosin hydrochloride 2 mg,once per night, taking 12 consecutive weeks. The prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life score(QOL),maximum urinary flow rate(MFR),residual urine, blood pressure and other indicators and the incidence of adverse reactions of patients were observed and recorded before and after treatment.RESULTS After treatment,IPSS,QOL,MFR,residual urine of patients in both groups significantly improved.Compared with the control group,IPSS score, residual urine volume, maximum flow rate changes in the observation group significantly changed in the observation(P﹤0.05),and in the course of treatment, there were no significant adverse reactions.CONCLUSION Tamsulosin in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia can be effective in improving symptoms of lower urinary tract, safe, and worthy of clinical application.
