Abstract
Objective To evaluate the signifcance by Heidelberg Retina Tomography(HRT) in the early diagnosis of primary open angl glaucoma. Methods The topography of optic discs was quantified by HRT in 98 normal controls(98 eyes) and 36 patients with primary open angle glaucoma(36 eyes).Topographic parameters were compared among all groups. Results Among the HRT parameters, the mean values for cup area/disc area ratio, cup volume, rim volume, cup shape measure, mean retinal nerve fiberlayer thickness of primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG) groups showed significant differences compared with control group. Conclusion Measurement of topographic parameters by HRT is useful in detecting primary open angle glaucoma damage.
