Abstract
English writing is one of the most difficult skills for students to master in the teaching of college English.This paper discusses the methods to improve the students' writing skills from the integration of writing and reading, the recognition of differences of the thinking ways between the Chinese and English discourse, the instruction in the process of writing and the development of the evaluating models.
