Survey and analysis of continuing education among operating room nurses

Objective To explore the status of continuing education for nurses in operating rooms,so as to provide bases for the future continuing education.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate 100 cases of nurses.Results Among the involved nurses,sixty-nine percent admitted that their aim of attending continuing education was to get the score of continuing education,sixty-eight percent considered that continuing education could improve cooperative competency in surgery,and eighty percent agreed that lack of sufficient time was the main influential factor.The main style of continuing education was lectures in hospitals.Psychology and special competency course were the most expective courses to learn for operating room nurses.Conclusion It is necessary to reform the methods and contents of continuing education for nurses in operating rooms to meet their needs and make them attend continuing education more actively.
